Excursion to Reef Island

Reef Island is an absolutely unique place in the world that you will only find here! A very very long time ago, the movement of tectonic plates pushed the ocean floor and made it rise out of the water! Today, you can see very ancient coral reefs frozen forever in time in the form of enigmatic structures!

Who can organize an outing to the Blue Lagoon with?

Each excursionist will take you to their land to help you discover this wonder of nature! The location of the excursion is therefore not exactly the same depending on the excursionist you choose, as for the blue lagoon.

There are fewer day trippers who only do Reef Island. In general, this excursion is more commonly found as a combo. The only provider who only does Reef Island exclusively for the day is called Leon ! I admit, for a visit to Reef Island, I have a little preference for Leon , from Paati Excursion. I haven't visited absolutely all the excursionists, but so far Leon has been my favorite spot! Leon will take you into a rocky labyrinth separated by crystal clear pools in which you can swim while discovering the reef.

How does a day trip to Île aux Récifs in Rangiroa take place?

You will swim and walk between the reefs and motu to discover this very remote part of the atoll. The visit is followed by a very good local meal (fish, coconut bread, wood-fired barbecue).

Departure is around 8:30 am for a delay around 5:30 pm. It is very important to take sunscreen, something to cover yourself with and shoes to walk on the reef (be careful, you also have to walk in the water!).

Price: about 12,000 XPF per person, varies depending on the excursionist. The price is about 14,500 XPF if you do Reef Island and the Blue Lagoon in the same day.

The price varies a little bit depending on the excursionists.
